Open Crock Ice Pickles are all-natural, home-made pickles from another heirloom family recipe that pairs well with our cheese and adds zest to every meal. The deep green, crispy pickles have a vinegary beginning and a lingering sweet finish. These pickles go well with meat sandwiches and as garnishes for hearty meals like roast turkey, roast beef and pork and sauerkraut. The pickles pair well with Old German Wiessa Kase, Felsa Yehr, and Butta Schaf Kase. The cucumbers for producing Open Crock Ice Pickles are grown in local gardens and picked when they are 2-21/2 inches and are then washed in lime water for several days. In total, the pickles take a week to prepare so that the crispness can be preserved. In the Amish community pickles are typically served with special meals and on Sundays after church. All Goot Essa condiments are produced in kitchens inspected and approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
